Mean Mom

These pics have no relevance to the anecdote below, but they do show happiness and love. Our group picture was a challenge, it took Grandma with the camera and Brooke with the funny faces to even get a couple that were okay.

A couple weeks ago I was at my mom's for lunch, and all of the kids were playing outside. They all lasted about 10 minutes before coming inside out of the cold, but Cooper was content to stay out. I heard him squawking about something (as he does quite normally, in my defense), so I went outside to see, and he was trying to lift this big chunk of ice that looked like an upside icicle from where something had been dripping. I told him that it was too big, and too stuck, and he couldn't move it, he would just have to leave it there. And he does not like it when things don't go the way he wants them to, so he continued voicing his complaints, and I just went back inside with the parting words "it's just stuck". And, shame on me, I noticed he was still complaining 10 seconds later (okay, at least a minute and a half later, but I'm sure the time went quickly for him), and I said "he wouldn't be stuck, would he?" and nice Grandma went out to investigate, and what do you know, his mitten was indeed stuck to the ice! So lets reflect on how nice my words of "it's just stuck" were to my poor little boy who was surely wondering why his mom wasn't doing a thing to help him!
